The town and county of Antigonish provides lots of recreational sports during summer and winter months. For more info you can visit at Antigonish Town Recreation or Antigonish County Recreation.
The St. FX University Keating Millennium Centre and Oland Centre offers a community membership program with access to the Wellness Centre, Alumni Aquatic Centre swims, gymnasiums, walking tracks, and racquetball/squash courts. Varsity sports with top level teams in football, soccer, hockey and swimming are popular and easily accessible. For more information check out the St.FX website at www.goxgo.ca.
Antigonish has beautiful parks, exciting playgrounds, and boasts some of the best playing fields in the province including a state-of-the-art artificial turf, softball and baseball fields, practice fields, tennis courts, and beach volleyball courts.
We are particularly proud of some of the newest recreational facilities in Antigonish including the new accessible ball field, :The Sandlot” which opened for its first season in July 2019, as well as the new skate park which is set to open in 2020
